Hi Martin, That's the first I've heard of a Sugga even being in the country! Is it a V8? I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea if it's possible...and I honestly doubt if anyone else will. I suggest speaking with Volvo in Sweden. I'd expect a few long pauses while they take in what you're asking, though :D My only thought is that non-V8 models used a B30, correct? If so, perhaps some 164 steering gear would be similar. It's a long shot, but it might be somewhere to start....comparing pictures, etc. I have a 164, and would be willing to take some pics if it would be useful... cheers James

The Sugga site is sadly quite empty, but the listing for that car for sale does suggest it doesn't use a B30. I was under the impression that (at least some) Suggas used B36 engines (two B18s fused to form a 3.6L V8), but it sounds like that '55 model uses a larger straight 6...possibly a sidevalve unit? Because Volvos weren't officially imported any earlier than about '55 (IIRC), we generally don't know a huge amount about the 'really' old stuff in the UK. I certainly found going round the museum in Gothenburg quite surprising in terms of how many cars I'd never seen before were made prior to the PV444. cheers James

Have actually seen a couple of these in the UK, always rather fancied one! Might be worth trying the Volvo Enthusiasts Club? Chairman Kevin Price 01299 400 039 may be able to connect you with someone who can give you some help. They always seemed to cater for a broader range of vehicles, especially older vehicles, and include trucks & buses etc. Cheers Rich
