What's the noise? Is it a humming/drumming - I replaced my rear tyres slightly earlier than required as they were noisy in this way. If it's a light squealing then it could be the splash covers for teh discs rubbing on the discs themselves. Juts pull the guards towards the disc at the top to alleviate this.
i also have a humming noise coming from rear ..but i feel that its just noise coming from the tyres (bad sound proofing maybe) ive only owned my S40 for 5 months now when i dropped the rear seats down i heard it louder ..(maybe it is wheel bearings..but i think i will wait until the wheels fall off until i replace the bearings)....... :Banane32: S40 2.0D SE SPORT 2004
If it's a wheel bearing the hum/drone should get progressively worse the faster you drive. I had a rear one go at 30,000 miles which was replaced under warranty. If you've had all the bearings replaced and it is still doing it you might consider a CV joint/driveshaft issue (front only).
The noise is definitely coming from the front of the car only. I suppose it could be wheel bearings or a drive shaft, as the front wheels had been 'kerbed' on both sides prior to me purchasing the car, which could have caused either bearing or drive shaft damage, although the rumbling wasn't evident during the test drive :(. The noise is so noticable it can also be 'felt' through the steering wheel at times.

There has been an issue with the r/h driveshaft centre bearings on this model. If this is the case it will need a complete drive shaft as the bearings are not available seperately. There is also a modified bearing carrier that needs to be replaced at the same time. Paul.
I would imagine that a driveshaft would be a warranty claim. If you can feel vibration through the steering wheel it sounds likely that the driveshaft bearings are to blame.
