I think that no matter what 240 you may be after all will suffer from the dreaded rust , its catching it early enough by the present owner to relieve the persistence of it . In the case of the 240 I own , I know the previous owner who undersealed it to prevent rust . There are some basket cases 240's around but then again there are some out there that have been well loved . I wish you luck in getting a 240 once again , im sure you wont regret it ! !
Hi Steve. Buy another 240! There are loads about and with a little care you will be able to buy one for reasonable money that is rust free, cared for and has many years of life left in it. Nearly all mechanical spares are easy and cheap to obtain, just about any mechanic from here to Timbuktu can get it going again in the unlikely event that it breaks down and its comfortable and safe. This forum is an excellent repository for 200 series knowledge and there are many active 240 owners here who can help with just about any technical query. Ian
